Festivities

When festivities rhyme with sport, the result is the organisation of a water jousting tournament. The Challenge Navarette will bring together the Vias population and holiday makers along the banks of the Canal du Midi, on the bridge of the Jonquié, Thursday 8th August 2013 from 6.00 pm. In a pastoral setting, perched on their small red and blue boats the "Tintaine Knights" take part in singular fights. Protected by a shields, the water jousters try to throw their enemies into the water using their spears. Each attack is punctuated by the music of the fife players and tambourines.
